The Ultimate Double Chocolate BrownieF
A rich and fudgy double chocolate brownie. From Mary Smith.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup baking cocoa
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ⅔ cup margarine melted and divided
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¼ tsp salt
- pecans coarsely chopped, optional
- 2 cups chocolate chips (12 oz)

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine baking cocoa and baking soda.
- Blend in 1/3 cup melted margarine.
- Add boiling water and stir until well blended.
- Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining margarine.
- Add flour, vanilla, and salt.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pecans if using.
- Fill a greased 13 x 9 inch pan with the batter.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes or until it begins to pull away from the pan.
